What is laser- laser is the concentrated beam of light that is made of a single wavelength. This beam does not scatter light around but focuses it on one point. Therefore the energy emission is very high. In hair removal this laser energy is used to heat and burn the hair follicles. The full name of laser is Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

How laser removes hair- when laser is focused on skin, it get attracted to the pigment of the hair follicle. The laser heats the hair follicles and burns it at the root. The darker the color of the hair, better the results. Similarly the skin should be light colored otherwise the skin also attracts laser and gets blistered. With latest developments this possibility is getting eliminated, but you must talk to your physician about your hair and skin color and the results expected.

Faces of Multi-functional Posters

Both theater and posters make us cry, hilariously laugh, somewhat reflect and perhaps learn from them. They perform different roles. These roles can be convincing while some may not. Nonetheless, they hit us!

Look around you. From the espresso shop you’ve entered a week ago, to the bus stop, to the cinema, down to Mr. Smith’s grocery store, there you can find posters. Practically they are indeed everywhere - as far as your eyes can reach!

That is the proof measuring the popularity of posters. In addition, movie promotions, product launching and opening of new businesses will be incomplete without posters to boost them.

Posters have multiple faces. A face is equated to an emotion or feeling. The feeling of an overwhelming joy can reflected in bursts of laughter. The feeling of melancholia and frustration can be manifested by rolling tears down the cheeks. Posters can hit us in our soft spot. It can pinch our heart in agony, inspire to our heart’s satisfaction, draw out desire, sigh in dismay, moan in relief and calm our distressed mind and soul.

Posters are so powerful. What do you think is the reason? The infallible fact is that – visual appeal is an effective attention-grabber. That’s where posters printing’s significance comes in. Digital advertising through plasma display panels, computer monitors, liquid crystal displays, and televisions are used to enhance this visual appeal. In fact, in connection with posters printing, the use of digitally-generated images is common nowadays.

The transformation was amazing. Those jaded and overlooked posters are nowhere to be found. What replaced them were potent and head-turning posters. This phenomenon wipe away idle posters a\that were considered ‘waste of money’.

Commercial printers are easy to contact. You can go to their place personally or just go online. All you have to do is click your mouse or tap your keyboard – that easy.

Modern day posters printing is a catalyst to yield quality and worthy posters in an affordable price. Its versatility opens various doors of alternatives, opportunities and explorations to succumb the greatest impact in your marketing approach!

Writing a good headline for your advertisement

There is no denying the fact that the success of an advertisement lies mostly in the headline. The headline should attract the reader and make him read the rest of the advertisement. The headline should be simply catchy and various key points should be embedded when deciding on the headline for the ad.

The headline should catch attention of the eye at the first glance. Words in headlines should act as tags for the advertisement. It should say it all about the content that follows. If a company is selling reasonably priced furniture, the headline of their advertisement should be ‘Durable furniture for less price’. This headline will attract the right customers who are on a look out for durable furniture as well as low cost furniture.

If the customers to be reached belong to a category that are interested in decorating their house with beautiful furniture and aren’t concerned about the price to get the right look, then the headline can be ‘Change how your house looks by our oriental furniture’.  Anything other than the prospects should not be included in the headline. If both men and women can use a product, both of them should be referred to in the title, missing out even one of the category is like losing a huge number of potential customers.

The title should be instant product seller. According to a research, five times more readers read just the headline when compared to those who read the complete advertisement. So the investment is of no use, if the title isn’t good enough to sell the product. There can be a possibility that the content of the ad isn’t strong enough. All the harm can be undone by having a powerful headline.

The headline should be centered on the product and not the company that is selling the product. The customer’s interest should be reflected and he should feel that he is directly addressed. Start with ‘you’ and not ‘we’. So if the client specified on mentioning the company’s name, don’t start the sentence with it. For example, instead of writing ‘Tylenol – solution for sever cold ’, write ‘Got sever cold? Try Tylenol’. Never forget to mention the name of the product in the headline. The product name should be of top priority.

A snapshot of the benefits of the product should be given in the headline. This is an important quality of a well-phrased headline. The customers look out for advantages when he thinks of buying a product. Keywords like whiter teeth, nutritious cereals, or miraculous growth should be incorporated in the title.

If inculcating all these factors have made the headline long, it should be remembered to write the product advantages in bold. If a visual is placed in the advertisement, it will be a good complement. As a picture speak thousand words. But care should be taken that the headline should say some part of the story and the visual should say the rest. Don’t repeat the headline or the picture.

Too much of cleverness should not be applied to design a headline. There are nearly five hundred advertisements in a local newspaper on weekends. A regular reader reads the headings of all of them. He will be able to classify between a false heading and a genuine heading. No false promises or information should be included in the headline. Over smart headlines are good for award competitions, but don’t really work with the savvy customers.

The headline should give out a positive feeling to the reader. Negativity should be totally excluded as it not only creates a negative impression but the mind will also be not receptive friendly. It sometimes confuses the mind and it interprets a negative meaning of the message being delivered. Confidence should be reflected in the headline. Don’t include any doubtful words like if and but. Conditional phrases are a strict no. The sentence should be in present tense, instead of past or future.

Producing Poster Ads

Advertising involves a lot of analysis. It is an analysis of the good points of what you have to offer. You need to analyze your offerings carefully, bring to light all the good points and let the full glare of advertising shine upon them. A good advertising writer is like a sponge. He absorbs every idea within reach and if he does not use the ideas and suggestions the moment they come in, they are absorb in his mind to be later pulled out when required.

Most promotional materials out there are poorly visualized and as a result they are not able to market the products or services successfully. If a promotional material in a crowded marketplace lacks a strong motivational message it becomes a costly mistake to the business. But if you are able to put together a good advertisement you are way ahead of the game.

So let’s say you need to create a good poster to showcase your latest shoe collection. Before you create the poster you should first have a mental picture of the space you are to fill. Fill the space right, with neither too many words nor too little. Be a reporter first and an editor afterwards. As a reporter, get all your best thoughts on paper and as an editor, polish, elaborate and trim until your ad is perfect.

For a poster to be effective, it should be able to attract attention. And that means having a provoking headline and visual element. It should also appeal to your prospects interest. Keep in mind that a poster that tells the readers how they will benefit from your product or service keeps their interest. In addition, it should communicate your company’s advantage. Why should the readers pick your products or services over the others? Most importantly, the poster should stimulate your readers to take action. This is usually accomplished by giving offers such as free trial, a discount or a bonus.

Remember, your poster should do more than just bring you customers. It should bring you more profitable customers. Likewise, it should make your business stronger, smarter and better able to compete. So, be honest, be natural and be sincere in your poster advertisement. If you are able to be these in your ad, chances are you will better be able to motivate your prospects to contact you.

Cellulite reducer or Liposuction?

So what exactly is this evil cellulite that so many of us suffer from? Simply put its small amounts of fat that become trapped in pockets just below the skins surface. Because the fat is close to the surface, it creates the icky cottage cheese appearance we all love so much. Thankfully there is an entire market developing around a new product, the Cellulite Reducer.

The answer for the last couple of decades to Cellulite has been liposuction. Simply put they suck the fat out of you, but since it is a medical procedure there are risks associated with it. Risks associated with Liposuction are:

Scars, swelling, infections, contour irregularities, and loose skin just to name a few.

Combine the medical risks associated with the expense of liposuction and it shouldn’t be a hard decision to give a good cellulite reducer a try before going under the knife. It’s a safer alternative and a lot less costly.

So how does a cellulite reducer work? If it’s not pulling the fat out of the problem areas how does it act on them from the outside?

First thing is there are some pill-based products that you can take as a cellulite reducer. It’s not really the best way to cure cellulite because blood doesn’t run well in the areas where cellulite exists. With low blood flow, it’s difficult to get the active ingredients to the area to reduce the cellulite. However you may think that’s it’s just as difficult to solve the cellulite problem from the outside in.

Not true, many cellulite reducers that are cream based products are applied to the affected area once or twice a day but they use active ingredients to actually shrink the fat below the skin. By shrinking the fat cells skin becomes more toned, and moisturized in the process.

It makes more sense to give a cellulite reducer a try. Of course the products do work. Most companies have many testimonials on their site about successful clients, but these products also have no medical risks and will not hurt your pocket book as much. In as little as 2 weeks some products will show an improvement, but you do need to be committed to the system.

Remember nothing happens over night, you need to follow the product instructions, and ensure you give the cellulite reducer time to do its job. Many products offer a free trial, or money back guarantee you should take advantage of this to test out the different products on the market, and if you’re not satisfied with them get your money back. It’s a competitive market out there, and there are many cellulite reducers to choose from, they all want your business so educate yourself, get out there and get rid of cellulite!

Contact Lens Discounts

Contact lenses have made lives simpler for millions of people world wide, today no matter what part of the globe you are from if you have ever worn a pair of glasses in your life chances are you have considered getting contact lenses. Contact lenses are worn by over 125 million people the world over. Apart from helping people get rid of glasses, contact lenses also offer many more features that conventional visual aids like glasses cannot offer.

As mentioned earlier the biggest advantage of contact lenses is that they are almost invisible, and unless a person tells you he or she is wearing contact lenses it is almost impossible to find out. A majority of the people in the world today wear contact lenses for this cosmetic purpose alone. It is not uncommon for people to completely ditch their glasses in exchange for contact lenses.

Apart from making people with glasses look prettier, contact lenses also have more scientific advantages spectacles to do not have.

Compared to a pair of glasses, contact lenses allow for a much wider field of vision. Since glasses are limited in that they have very little or no visibility at the extreme ends they are disadvantageous to people like sportsmen and soldiers. In fact most infantry soldiers with glasses prefer contact lenses as they provide better field of vision, and modern day contact lenses can be worn for long durations of time without any problems. Also contact lenses are not bulky or prone to breakage like spectacles. People that are involved in manual labour or sports activities like football, baseball etc cannot dream of wearing spectacles to work. This is where contact lenses have a unique advantage.

Another advantage that contact lenses have when compared to spectacles is that contact lenses do not steam or fog like spectacles, also contact lenses are unaffected by rain and other weather conditions that directly affect glasses. A popular area where contact lenses are being used today is altering the colour of the iris, by wearing cosmetic lenses a person can alter the colour of his or her eyes within minutes. Most cosmetic contact lenses are certified by the FDA and can be used without any additional complications, however all contact lens users are advised to maintain proper hygiene while using contact lenses.

If you are currently wearing spectacles and considering switching over to contact lenses then there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. Contact lenses require a little more care when compared to glasses. Also contact lenses cannot be worn for longer duration of time in the beginning. It takes time for the eye to adjust to the contact lenses, so if you are expecting to get used to your new contact lenses immediately think again. Also if you are part of a profession where glasses are actually impairing your day to day activities then it is always a good idea to get yourself a pair of contact lenses. Remember always get professional help and use only prescribed contact lenses.

Facial Lines and Wrinkles

Lines and furrows and wrinkles – clinically called rhytides - are typical of an ageing skin and are attributed to the irregular thickening of the dermis coupled with the decrease in the amount of water held by the epidermis.

Genetic tendency, skin phototype, exposure to environmental conditions and lifestyle choices are some of the factors that can affect the degree of severity of these seemingly alarming changes in a person’s appearance.

Aside from natural ageing processes, the following factors appear to be most common culprits – while it should be noted that some reasons are simply unavoidable: sun damage, muscle movement, gravity, surgery, injury, acne, discoid lupus (skin diseases with a tendency to scar), smoking and exposure to environmental toxins such smog and dust.

With lines, there is often a degree of irregularity and asymmetry, as people tend to smile, smirk or frown more on one side than the other, or as preference to sleep on the right or the left cheek.

Furrows are actually deeper lines and clinically classified as either dynamic or static. Dynamic lines appear with movement of the facial muscles.  Eventually however dynamic lines become static lines and will surface permanently and fixedly despite muscle movements.

Common form of furrows include crow's feet, which appears around the eyes due to smiling and activity of the eyelid muscles; worry lines, that emerges on the forehead due to contraction of the frontalis muscle when raising the eyebrows; and, frown lines which develops between the eyebrows due to contraction of corrugator supercilii muscles and procerus muscle when angry or concentrating.

Another nasty ageing problem is sagging skin.  A reduction of the fat cells under the skin, loss of collagen and elastin fibres and gravity, which causes the lax tissue to sag are factors that would result to skin laxity or drooping.  Parts of the face that sags and bags include the forehead, upper and lower eyelids, eyes (would appear hollow), jowls, necline, earlobes, tip of the nose and upper lip.

Dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons use two accepted classifications of ‘ageing stages’.

The Glogau classification describes: Mild - few wrinkles, requires little or no make-up for coverage; Moderate – early wrinkling, sallow complexion, requires little makeup;  Advanced – persistent wrinkling, skin discolouration with broken blood vessels and solar keratoses, often wears make-up; and, Severe - severe wrinkling and furrows, solar keratoses, often wears make-up but it may not hide the ageing changes.

On the other hand, the Fitzpatrick classification of facial lines refers to the degree of wrinkling with focus on the areas around the mouth and eyes: Class
I - fine wrinkles; Class
II – fine to moderately deep wrinkles and moderate number of lines; and, Class
III - fine-to-deep wrinkles, numerous lines, and possibly redundant folds.

Today, the field of cosmetic care and surgery has developed advanced technologies and remarkable innovations to address the problem on wrinkles, lines and furrows.  A younger appearance and improved complexion is not far fetched.

Best results can be obtained with the range of cosmetic procedures available today.  From topical retinoids and anti-ageing formulas pumped with vitamins, Alpha hydroxy acids and various plant extracts to various resurfacing techniques including chemical peels, dermabrasion and thermage.

Implants in the form of temporary or permanent fillers or grafts can lift individual lines and furrows. BOTOX® treatment can paralyze the muscles that are responsible for frown lines, crow's feet and forehead lines.  Meanwhile, cosmetic surgery takes care of sagging tissues through various face lift techniques.

Are You Lovable?

This looks like an awkward question. We will confess that he/she is not lovable? But the truth is that many of us are not lovable at all. Can you imagine of a small kid? A kid is always lovable. Why? If we can answer that question, we will solve the puzzle about whether we are lovable or not.

A kid is innocent. Knows nothing and is totally defenseless. You love a kid, because he/ she wants you to protect him/her. You love a kid because of innocence. You love the kid because of the smiling face. You love the kid because the kid has no malice towards anyone. Does not desire any thing bad for any one. Recognizes no enemies and has faith in everyone. The kid is totally free of all negative emotions. That is why we all love a kid.

How many of us are like that? How many of us keep a smile on our face forever? How many of us are free of negative emotions? Not many. Agreed that we are grown ups and can not be like a kid. But surely we can borrow some good qualities from the kid. How about forgiving everyone? How about not getting angry at all? How about having faith in everyone unless proven otherwise? How about loving everyone? How about becoming non judgmental?

Once we acquire some of these qualities, we will become lovable. Believe me that it is that simple. All of your friends and colleagues will begin liking you more. You will get love from unexpected quarters. You will get your dream darling in a little time, after you transform yourself.

How To Choose A Wedding Tent

Renting a good tent is important when planning an outdoor wedding. While tents provide a cozy and personal touch to the whole outdoor wedding décor, they also shield you and your guests from unfavorable weather conditions. Tents are also more flexible than existing facilities because you have more options regarding where and how you want to have your wedding. However, they are more expensive and can cost you around $3,000 to $6,000 without the extras such as lighting, flooring, and the cost of delivery, setup, and removal.

Types of Wedding Tents:

These are some of the popular tents that you may want to check out before making a decision.

Party Canopy: This is a lightweight tent designed to protect from sun and rain. Installation is easy, and inexpensive to rent in comparison to other types.

Pop-up Canopy: Another lightweight tent with collapsible-frame fabric. Installation is also easy.

Frame Tent: A tent with a metal frame having no center poles. The rental company usually installs it.

Tension tent: This type is built with high center poles, a steeply sloped ceiling, with a more open feeling inside of the tent.

Pole Tent: This type has poles around the perimeter and in the center, which is very practical for harsher weather conditions. The rental company will install it.

Location and Flooring:

The best location for setting up the wedding tent is on an even high ground, and should be free of overhead utility lines. If the site has uneven terrain or experiences high rainfall, try to include plywood or plastic flooring. Plywood can be expensive but it will provide a durable raised floor and is suitable for almost any type of terrain. Plastic floor is ideal for paved surfaces and is much cheaper than plywood floors. Also consider parquet-wood floor which can be used as the dance floor.

Size of the Tent:

There's no harm in renting a tent that's a little larger than actually required. Think of a tent size in which your guests can be comfortably seated. Here's how you should estimate tent seating specifications:

All chairs in rows: 6 square feet per person Round tables: 12 square feet per person Rectangular tables: 8 square feet per person Cocktails and receptions: 8 square feet per person

Along with these specifications, figure in the bar area, cake table, band area buffet tables, and dance floor.

Color of the Tent:

The traditional color for tents is white but you can choose from a wide variety and combinations, depending on the theme and mood of your wedding. For example, if you want a romantic starlit night sky to be part of your wedding, rent a tent with a translucent ceiling. Sidewalls can be solid white for more private affairs, clear vinyl to let in natural light, and cathedral-window walls for a more decorative touch.

Optional:

Remember that every rental firm also provides optional accessories which can really underscore the décor of your wedding and the tent. Choose those that will fit in to the theme and tone of the wedding. Other accessories that you can't do without may include air-conditioning (for areas with extreme climates), carpeting, portable bars, decorative lighting etc.

Charleston Bans Smoking

Legend has it that there was once a sign on all of the bridges leading into Charleston, SC, the stated “Welcome to Charleston. Unencumbered by Progress for the Past 100 Years.” Putting together “cutting edge” and Charleston in the same sentence is an oxymoron. Recently the Charleston City Council heard a rumor about something called second smoke. After a bit of research they were shocked to discover that cities such as LA and New York had banned smoking from public places.

Now, being one of America’s favorite vacation destinations, they couldn’t let those other popular spots do something they weren’t doing. Especially them damn Yankees from New York City. The last time the City got this riled they launched a few cannonballs out into the bay at Ft. Sumter which started the American Civil War.

With much hand wringing and gnashing of teeth by local bar and restaurant owners, Charleston City Council passed a ban on all smoking in public places. The non-smokers in the Low Country are breathing a sigh of relief; the bar and restaurant folks are threatening a law suit. Apparently they haven’t noticed that it is easier to find a place to park a dumpster then it is to find a place to smoke these days. Courts from one end of the country to the other have upheld these bans.

Generally we come down on the side of the Bill of Rights and the First Amendment’s Freedom of Assembly clause. If people want to gather and smoke a legal and highly taxed product, what business is it of local government? If no one is being held against their will in these places, where is the problem? We would find these laws easier to swallow if they gave restaurant the option of being smoking or non-smoking with signs clearly marked on the door. But the promoters of the nanny state are never willing to go along with this.

As non-smokers we’ve figured out what places to avoid because they are smoked filled. Smoke billowing out to street whenever the front door is opened is usually the first clue. In the West Ashley suburb of Charleston, you learn pretty quickly that you can lose sight of your server in the haze of the smoke at Manny’s and the food at the Map Room starts tasting like a nicotine patch after 9 pm. If one of these places wants to become a private club for smokers then let them go at it. Make it illegal for anyone under 18 to enter. If the bar owners think they can make more money than honoring the ban, so be it.

The larger concern is what will they target next? McDonald’s french fries haven’t been the same since the quit cooking them in lard. Then “trans fats” were bad. Remember “saccharin?” After winning the anti-smoking battle does anyone seriously think the “health Nazis” will disband and start leading a normal, productive life? Don’t count on it.

They can pry my key lime pie from my cold dead fingers.

All About Wedding Rings

You get to the alter and you say your I do’s and it's time for the best man to present the wedding rings, he pats his top pockets then his bottom pockets and you stare at him getting worried that may be he has forgotten or lost the most important part of your wedding, the rings! But there they are in his inside pocket and he passes them over to you and a look of relief washes over your face!

Wedding rings are the be all and end all to any wedding, they are usually just plain gold bands and it is the engagement ring that has the diamonds. But some men like to spoil a woman and get her a wedding ring encrusted with diamonds. Like they say diamonds are a girl's best friend! The wedding rings are usually put on the fingers at the end of the vows and then there is the famous “kiss the bride” moment.

The wedding bands symbolize unity and a constant circle, they are you and your partner together through everything, thick and thin, sickness and health and everything else that a married couple in love will go through together but it means that although there may be rocky or bubbly parts you will still be together to the end and the circle will continue! Some mothers pass their wedding rings down to their daughters as a symbol of love and friendship, not when they are married of course, but when their husband passes away and they are left widowed.

Wedding rings are usually bought from a jeweller but they can be purchased second hand or even on the internet, yes the internet does sell everything these days! The most important part of the wedding is saying "I do" then slipping that ring onto the person that you love finger knowing that you will spend the rest of your life loving them and cherishing them, no day is more special than your wedding day!

Men Want A Classy Woman

Ladies, this one is for you. Your mother always told you “Don’t give away the farm.” Yet men have been saying, “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?” It’s a paradox; women think they need to put out, or they’ll lose their man. Men don’t want a woman who puts out; at least not long term they don’t. Are you the type of woman who men take home to bed; or the type who men take home to meet Mom?

One man described it this way, “When I’m talking to a woman, either on-line, on the phone, or in person, who do you think is the first person to bring up sex? Almost always it’s the woman. I don’t. I can tell almost instantly if the woman is classy or cheap. I want a woman who is confident, not insecure and thinks she needs to attract me by offering up free sex. What healthy, heterosexual man doesn’t want or enjoy sex with a woman? But I don’t want someone that everyone else has enjoyed. A classy woman is intriguing, mysterious and alluring. Her appearance and the way she carries herself can be very appealing. There’s a huge difference between sexy and sleazy; and unfortunately many woman don’t know the difference.”

Ladies wise up! If you don’t understand why you keep attracting the wrong men, it’s because your standards are too low. Set the bar higher. Do not engage in innuendos or blatant conversation that is sexual in nature. Just don’t do it. You may think you are flirting; but what you are doing is sending a signal to the man that you’re easy. You may hook him for a time. You may both be filled with infatuation, but it won’t last. Men will look at you as the good time gal; not as a keeper.

What are you wearing? Low rise jeans and tummy shirts are in. They’re not in if you don’t have the body to wear that style of clothing and they’re not in if you’re trying to convince the men that you’re a classy lady. That is not to say you need to haul out the turtle neck sweaters and long skirts which cover up your ankles.

You will not be able to change your belief system overnight; your views on what men want. But what you can change almost instantly is how you dress and how you talk. Decide today that you will not openly discuss sex or make comments of a sexual nature with men. There are ways you can let someone know you’re interested without sounding like a hootchie mamma. And lastly, take inventory of your wardrobe. Leave a little to the imagination, don’t show it all.

Men want a classy woman.

How To Really Pop A Pimple For Good

There is no definite scientific method of how to pop a pimple, so most folks do it in the best manner that suits them. The best way say experts is to pop these mugs in such a way that no nasty scar results, and tell you what I know how to pop a pimple in the exact manner described above.

The process I must admit can be painful, but in this golden era we live in, there definitely should be no excuses for having acne, certainly not with the information and treatment expertise at our disposal. With that at the back of our mind, let's kick start the effort of combating acne with learning how to pop a pimple.

Almost everyone at one stage in their lives must have experienced peering at their mirror after waking up only to find massive acne leering back at them. The annoying bit about these zits is not only would they attract attention to you, but they are also painful And this bring us to the obvious question? What to do with the acne.

The simple answer is: squeeze it!

Yeah, because the fashion magazines tell us never to pinch doesn't mean we shouldn't. Of course we are aware of the usual caution bits about popping acne- squeezing can result in a scar. Though this might be a reality, but the cosmetics manuals didn't exactly instruct people on how to pop a pimple.

The process should commence by first cleaning your face from dirt’s, oil and bacteria. The importance of this procedure is that it prevents your fingers from slipping when pressing the acne, but ensure you didn't press more than twice. Exceeding this limit can cause irritations which in turn can lead to further swelling. This simple, unambiguous way is how to pop a pimple.

Generally, most fashion and cosmetics authorities will warn against pinching, squeezing, or popping pimples, but everyone knows this is impossible, and it is not consistent with natural human reaction. Probably the final arbiter on the issue of how to pop a pimple should be the internet. You can go online and check out the subject or find out how to get rid of acne in general.

Best Yoga Position?

Yoga has simple and effective body movements that strengthen one's back, firm the stomach, and redistribute body weight. Yoga exercises stretch and tone the body muscles. They increase endurance and improve flexibility.

Yoga Asanas or positions are the best among all exercises for toning muscles, lubricating joints and massaging the body. Yoga postures bring physical as well as mental stability, health and vigor.

These Asanas were developed thousands of years ago and have evolved over centuries.

They work wonders in keeping the body healthy and the mind peaceful. Asanas exercise the nerves, glands, ligaments, and muscles. In other words, yoga exercises are the most comprehensive method of self care

Although asanas are very powerful, the effect becomes dramatic when they are done the right way. The mind must be in harmony with the body movements. For this it is essential to equip yourself with the other tools of Integral Yoga.

The aspect of Yoga that most people are aware of is "Hatha Yoga" or the Yoga of Postures. Developing a strong, healthy and flexible body is but one aspect of this ancient science. Yogis revere the body. However, they do this because they realize that a weak and tired body is a hindrance towards spiritual progress.

By being mindful of their breathing while they practice the various postures, they train themselves to discipline their minds. By disciplining their minds, they are able to abide by the principles which Yoga stands for.

First amongst these principles is "Ahimsa", or peacefulness in thought, deed, and action not only to other human beings, but also to all living creatures, and most importantly to our own selves. Caring for Crystal Items

Crystal is a high quality form of glass, produced with lead oxide which creates light reflection. The rainbow of light reflection is the quality that makes crystal so interesting and desired by crystal collectors and gift recipients.  Crystal pieces are delicate and need to be handled and cleaned with care. Keep in mind, most damage occurs when cleaning or moving pieces. Therefore, you must be careful each time you clean a crystal piece or move it to a new location.

When moving crystal objects, always carry one object or one part of a set at a time. It is best to wrap your hands around the body of the object rather than using an existing handle, rim, or projection for support. In general, it is not ideal to routinely wash the pieces. Each time a piece is handled for cleaning there is a greater risk of breakage through accidents and mishandling. If at all possible it is better to protect pieces from soiling and dust by placing them in a dust free area such as an enclosed curio cabinet, rather than washing them too often.  Also be sure they are kept well back from the edge of any shelf.

Objects should be kept free of dust, debris, and oily residues. Keeping them in a cabinet also prevents the items from being broken. If you must store crystal pieces, store each individual object separately. Do not stack or crowd items and avoid wrapping glass in tissue or newspaper, which may attract and hold dampness. When a piece has dust on it,.  is recommend you to use “Hair Dryer” on cool setting or canned air to get rid of dust.

Remember that fine crystal and glassware can crack or break when subjected to extremes of hot and cold. Lighting candles in candleholders is not recommended.  Light the candle prior to putting it into a crystal candle holder.  If an item has fingerprints on it, do not place it in a dishwasher. Fingerprints can be easily removed by using a small amount of glass cleaner with a soft, lint free cloth or washing your fine crystal and glassware by hand in moderately warm water with a mild lemon detergent and 1/4 cup ammonia (to prevent spotting). Rinse in clean water and air dry on a dish rack.

Using care and common sense when cleaning your crystal items will insure that they last for many years to come.

The Hobby Of Stamp Collecting

Stamp collecting is a popular and rewarding hobby. If you are just starting out and would like to know where to start, here are some helpful tips.

It is said that the first rule of stamp collecting is to find a particular type of stamp you think you would like to collect and to take care of your collection. Some suggestions for types of stamps to collect are location of the stamp (i.e. country, state, etc.), stamp design, or a stamp for a particular season/holiday.

Some people collect one issue of a stamp in volume, one type of stamp only (sometimes referred to as a specialist), and some people collect all the stamps that are able to.

Once you have decided what type of stamp collector you want to be and what sort of stamps you want to collect, you need to learn how to properly care for your stamps.

The first piece of advice is to always use stamp tongs when handling your stamps. While stamp tongs bear a resemblance to tweezers, they are different from tweezers in that they do not have pointy ends. Tweezers should not be used in place of actual stamp tongs as they may damage stamps.

Stamps should not be handled with fingers or laid out on bare table surfaces as the natural oil in human skin and any particulates that may be on the table will cause damage to the stamp over time. When viewing stamps, they should be laid out on a clean piece of paper to avoid as much contamination as possible.

The basic necessary supplies for stamp collecting are the stamp tongs, an envelope to store your stamps in and a storage box to store the envelopes in. It is important to note that the stamp tongs will need to be purchased from a stamp store or can be found at a stamp show.

Once your collection grows, it is suggested that you invest in glassine envelopes for your stamps. These envelopes are made for stamp collecting and are semi-transparent. The glassine material is found to have no harmful effects on the stamps it stores.

It is suggested that once your stamp collection has grown and you have isolated what particular types of stamps you like to collect, you may wish to invest in a album for stamp storage.

I Need A Candle Wall Sconce

A candle wall sconce is one of the lighting accessories you will find in all lighting stores. Sconces attach to the wall of any room and hold one or more candles of varying sizes. For example, you can have a candle wall sconce made from wrought iron that holds three or four votive candles. You can also have a candle wall sconce that looks like an old-fashioned oil lamp.

Contemporary candle sconces are made or brass, pewter, Tiffany glass and some are made of plastic. Each candle wall sconce has a plate that attaches to the wall, while not holding the candleholder close to the wall. When you light the candle, the flame is not near the wall, so you don’t have to worry that it could cause a fire. The wrought iron tealight candle holder sconce is a work of art and you can get this type of wall sconce in many different designs. There are wrought iron sconces with intricate carvings and shaped to look like harps and angels.

When you use candle wall sconces to decorate your home, guests will ask the name of your interior decorator. That is because accentuating a room with a candle wall sconce has become the decorating theme for contemporary homes. While the home is modern, the décor is a throwback to long ago times when every home had a wrought iron tealight candle holder sconce on the wall. You can also get these wrought iron candle holders that hold votive candles, taper and pillar candles.

A candle wall sconce is the perfect way to add accent lighting to any room of the home. If you have candle wall sconces mounted on either side of a picture or a tapestry on the wall, it will really show off the artwork to its best effect. The range of wall sconces that you can get is awesome and you may need some time to choose the one that best suits your décor. Take a look at the wrought iron triple French pillar that holds three round pillar candles. If you prefer smaller candles, the wrought iron tealight candle holder sconce might be more to your liking.

If you really want to see what is available in candle wall sconces, try an online search. The Internet is your best source of a wrought iron, brass or pewter candle wall sconce. With the many retailers with online catalogs, you can browse at your leisure and take as long as you like. No one will bother you and try to sell you anything and when you place an order for a candle wall sconce, it will be shipped right to your door. How much easier can it get than that?

Best Times for Bird Watching

One you have the birding bug, you will want to maximize your experience when it comes to sightings. Put another way, you will need to know the best times for bird watching.

Best Times for Bird Watching

There is something to be said for the chase being most of the fun in life. If you have caught the bird watching bug, the chase is definitely going to be part of your task in gaining new entries for your life list. Simply put, there are good, okay and great times to seek out sightings. Understand these times and you will be on your way to some excellent sightings.

A common mistake when birding is to assign human emotions and behavior to the birds you are viewing. Birds may appear to react as such, but they are not following typical human behavior. Instead, they appear to be primarily reacting to stimulus. This means it is foolhardy to assume they will follow the same schedule as we do. Yes, there are some similarities, but not too many.

The old cliché is the early bird gets the worm. As with most clichés, there is something to this one. Most species of birds tend to be active early in the morning, much as humans are unless I haven’t had my coffee yet. No, birds don’t drink coffee, but many species definitely have a hankering for breakfast. Plan on heading out early if you want to sight a particular species in an active phase.

Ironically, one of the poorer times to pursue bird watching is in the middle of the day. Although birds are in view, this tends to be an inactive time for many species. A better time to catch them is in the late afternoon when activity picks up before the onset of evening.

Undoubtedly, you are thinking of a variety of species that do not fit within this general guideline and you are correct to do so. The simple fact is every type of bird has different patterns of activity. The obvious examples are owls, which certainly are not going to be of much interest during the day given the fact most species are sleeping. The lesson, therefore, is to take a close look at the particular species you are interested in and then tailor your viewing habits to its schedule.

The best times for bird watching can generally be said to be the early morning and late afternoon. To avoid the occasional disappointment, make sure to research the specific tendencies of any particular bird you wish to observe.

Surfaces to Decoupage

Almost any surface can be used for decoupage, but different surfaces will require different treatment. Traditionally, wooden objects are used, especially furniture. But any smooth surface can be decoupaged. Trays, boxes, and picture frames are ideal for the beginner.

Before you begin, make sure that the item is clean and free from dust or flaking paint. Unfinished wood must be painted, stained, or sealed before decoupaging. If the item needs to be painted, use the appropriate paint and let it dry for twenty-four hours. It will also need to be lightly sanded so that the glue adheres better. We’ll discuss preparing surfaces for decoupage in further detail in the section on techniques.

Wood
New wood is easily available and it requires little preparation. Most suppliers have a large range of items. Varnished wood needs a light sanding before use to help the water based glues and varnishes to adhere properly. Old wood may take more preparation, but has a lot of character.

Metal
Old metal items also often have a lot of character. Local secondhand shops can be a great source.

Galvanized Steel
Galvanized steel is increasing in popularity and can now be obtained from craft shops. These items are delicate in appearance with intricate, scalloped lines. Some preparation is required to ensure proper adhesion. These items are extremely delicate and will chip if used roughly and regularly and so should be kept for decorative purposes. Try not to get water on the steel, especially if you are using it as a flower holder. Use another container inside the steel item.

Ceramics
Unglazed, bisque-fired ceramics are best for decoupage and come in a wide variety of shapes. These items are purely decorative. Hot food shouldn’t be served in them, only use them as containers for dry items such as pot pourri or nuts. Wipe clean with a damp cloth, but don’t immerse in water or put in the dishwasher.

Porcelain
Once complete, you can use the item for what it was originally intended for. Serviettes are good to use as they are extremely thin and melt into the porcelain. Try to keep to lighter colors in porcelain, as serviettes will disappear altogether into a darker background.

Enamel
Enamel needs a light sanding and a coat of steel primer followed by a coat of universal undercoat. It can then be treated the same as porcelain.

Glass
Glass needs a through clean with warm soapy water and a good rinse before being used. These items are usually for decorative use, but if you want to use your glass item, try using serviettes and porcelain medium on an ovenproof glass item that can be heated. Baking your item dry will seal and harden your artwork, making it more useable. Don’t immerse the item in water.

Candles
It’s best to use thicker candles as a thin one will burn too quickly, as well as being difficult to work with. They tend to burn down in the center, leaving a safe zone on the edge.

Soap
Any soap can be decoupaged, provided it isn’t too oily. The soap can be used although the picture will eventually come off. Decoupaged soap makes great gifts.

Once you’ve found an item you want to decoupage onto, you need to make sure that it’s free from dust and dirt. The surface may need sealing and you may need to paint the item first. Some surfaces will need sanding first. Don’t begin to decoupage until the item is clean and dry.

With the amount of work you’ve put in, you’ll want to keep your piece beautiful. Waxing periodically provides good protection. Wipe all spills immediately with a soft cloth. Don’t use furniture polish as it can cause a buildup and over time ruin the surface. A damp sponge or cloth works well for cleaning. Don’t place a piece of decoupage in direct sunlight, as it will fade over time.

Remember that varnish takes about a year to fully cure. Don’t put heavy objects on a flat decoupaged surface for at least a year or they will cause dents in the surface. Once the surface has hardened, this isn’t so important. Varnish dries from the top down, so although it may feel hard and dry on the surface it can still be soft further down.

Any small chips that occur over time should be repaired as soon as possible. If the varnish is chipped but the decoupage has no damage, sand the surface. Apply a drop of varnish and allow to dry. Repeat until the chip is filled.  Decoupage is not hard to care for and with proper care it will last forever.

Scrapbooking Tips

Have you ever found a very old family photo album, perhaps in your grandparent’s house, and had no idea who the people in the photographs were? Sometimes no one remembers who they are, and a part of your family history is lost forever.

One of the most frustrating things about finding old photos or old albums is the lack of information in them. Often there is nothing to identify the photos. No names, no dates, no locations.

One way to keep that from happening with the albums that you create is to take the time to journal in them. Today, creating photo albums has become an art form known as scrapbooking. These scrapbooks are more than just photos on a page. They are family histories, meant to be handed down from generation to generation.

Journaling is important for several reasons. First of all, it will provide valuable genealogical information for future generations. Secondly, journaling is a way for you to make sure the stories of your life and your family’s life are persevered. Also, it allows those with whom you share your albums to look through them without having to have you narrate through the entire album. They can take their time to browse through the album, enjoying the photos and reading the captions and stories.

What do you need to journal in your album?
You need to have acid free, permanent pens that are created for scrapbooking. It’s important to choose these types of pens because they are photo safe. They will not damage the surrounding photos as time passes. You may want to have pens in a variety of colors or just black. The colors you use, however, are not as important as getting the words on the page.

At the very least you should write identifying information associated with your photos. This would be people’s names and who they were in relationship to you. It could be as simple as “My cousin Jack White, “our neighbor Bill Smith,” or “my co-worker and good friend Jill Jones.”  Identifying people with a little more information than just their names will be helpful to those looking through your albums. Other important identifying information would be dates and locations.

In addition to identifying information, many people choose to go further in their journaling. They tell stories that go along with the photographs. These can be short paragraphs that highlight what was going on or entire pages of written memories.

If you’re new to journaling and unsure how to fit it into your album, try some of these tips:

Lists are great to put in an album instead of just straight paragraphs. For example, if you are doing an album for a toddler you can make lists of their favorite things – food, books, toys, tv programs, songs, etc. and sprinkle them throughout the album where there are blank spaces.

Ask others to write in your albums. Get your kid’s dad to write his point of view of his fourth birthday party. Have a friend you took a trip with write her thoughts on the trip.

Use poems or quotes that are appropriate to fill in some blank spaces. Have a little white space left on the page of Halloween pictures? Find a cute pumpkin poem to fill it in.

Whether you choose to simply write in the important identifying information or go a step further and tell stories with your albums, journaling will make your albums more personal. It will also leave future generations with valuable information that they will be grateful for.

About The Bonzai Tree

Bonzai is a Japanese word, but its roots are Chinese and are derived from the word “punsa”. This word means “tree in a pot” The practice of growing trees in a pot was originally Chinese, but the practice of growing the Bonzai Tree was made into an art form by the Japanese when the concept was introduced to them about 5 centuries ago.

It was not until the early 1900s that the Bonzai Tree was introduced to the western world, but it soon became not only a popular hobby, but began to be considered a serious art form in horticulture by many people. Today, there are Bonzai Tree displays and shows, as well as stores dedicated to the Bonzai Tree.

It is a common misconception that the Bonzai Tree is small naturally, but this is not true. The Bonzai Tree comes from the same seed as its larger counterpart, but is grown in a specific way to ensure that it remains tiny.
It is vital for the beginner to know that the main element to growing a Bonzai is pruning this is the technique used that allows the tree to stay small. Without regular pruning, the Bonzai Tree will grow to its standard height and size.

The roots of a Bonzai Tree have to be pruned so that it will remain healthy. By pruning the roots, it produces a small thick ball or pack of root that permits it to be transplanted to an appropriate container. When pruning the roots, one-third of the roots are removed yearly so that new soil can be added and give space for new roots to develop.
The Bonzai Tree can grow to various heights. There are trees that are a few inches high and some grow much taller. There are no restrictions; it is only important that the Bonzai Tree is grown in a pot and attains the image of a full-grown tree as it would in nature. In the beginning, growing these miniature trees may seem difficult, but it won’t take long before you learn the art form of the Bonzai Tree and find that you simply can’t get enough of these unique plants.

Bringing the exquisiteness of a Japanese garden into your home with the Bonzai Tree is a great way to add beauty and elegance to your surroundings. If you are looking for a new type of indoor plant, or simply a new hobby, consider the Bonzai Tree.

Affordable Dental Insurance

Medical treatment – both health and dental – is extremely expensive and the best possible option in the given scenario is to buy both health and dental insurance. Compare the two and you will find that dental insurance is more affordable and cheaper than health insurance.

This is because dental insurance is designed to provide preventive care and this, by and large, eliminates chances of major problems. Unlike health insurance, whereby plans need to cover expensive tests, multiple treatments, and dangerous diseases, dental insurance covers diseases that are preventive by nature and even if treatment becomes essential, the diagnostic tests require little more than x-rays, and a thorough examination by the dentist.

Family dental insurance also makes economic sense. People will find that in any family, there will be members who have required dental treatment at some time or the other. It can be children who require their cavities to be filled or the older generation requiring root canal treatment. If nothing else, regular visits to the dentist are an answer to keeping teeth in good condition, be it cases of bleeding gums or teeth requiring topical fluoride treatment. Routine check-ups can prove to be affordable, if covered by dental plans. Otherwise, a visit to a dentist, apart from being a painful experience, can also end up digging a deep hole in the pocket.

People can afford dental insurance at reduced rates if they choose to buy PPO plans, or preferred provider organization plans. The only thing they have to sacrifice here is the freedom of choice. This means that as for as the freedom of choosing a dentist is concerned, they will have to choose a dentist who is listed in the plan’s network. People should weigh the benefits offered carefully and, given the affordable nature of the plan, they may consider this price too little a sacrifice as compared to the advantages.

Why Not Try Bikram Yoga?

There are many types of yoga, but Bikram yoga tends to stand out from the rest. Even though the practice is largely the same, you'll immediately notice the difference in the environment -- the room in which Bikram yoga is performed is heated between 90 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit!

Bikram yoga follows a consistent program, employing 26 various poses, each of which you practice twice during a session.

The poses flow as follows. You'll start with Standing Postures, then progress to Backbends. Then you'll practice Forward Bends and Twists. You will do the poses using the Kapalabhati Breath or the Breath Of Fire techniques, which are advanced techniques known for their energizing and cleansing qualities.

It's Getting Hot in Here

The purpose of the heat in Bikram yoga is to help you ease in to a deeper, safer pose. The heat helps your body's flexibility, making it easier to achieve better postures and making your overall practice more effective. Some of the poses you'll do in Bikram yoga are quite challenging, and the heat will help you enter them more comfortably, and ideally get more out of them. Also, with the increased temperature, your body will sweat more readily, releasing more toxins from your pores. The heat also lowers your risk for injuries.

When you practice Bikram yoga, you aren't simply stretching the muscles in your body. You're also working and massaging the internal organs, which helps to strengthen and lubricate the body's glands and improve the nervous system. With Bikram yoga, you'll work and strengthen your muscles, joints and ligaments. All this work -- especially with the help of Bikram's specialized environment -- helps to flush toxins out of your body and provides the kind of exercise your muscles crave.

Can You Stand the Heat? Get Into the Kitchen!

Aptly named, this yoga practice was developed by Yogi Bikram Choudhury, who first began his yoga practice at the age of three, then studied yoga for a long while with the renowned physical culturalist, Bishnu Ghosh. Together they developed this form as one of the ultimate ways to help the body through series of especially challenging stretches and poses. It goes without saying that the Bikram beginner requires a skilled instructor to get started, as these poses are more challenging than some. The high temperature is also key to the process. As a result, more than other forms, you'll need to take instruction at a yoga school or some of the higher end fitness clubs.

You can easily learn more about Bikram yoga to any of the on-topic books available on the Web. You'll find that Bikram yoga offers a wide range of challenging poses, and many people find it a wonderful way of widening their yoga experience. If you're ready to branch out and try something new, be sure to try Bikram yoga.

A Look at Garden Gazebos

A garden gazebo is the perfect way to accent your garden. Imagine being able to walk along the path between the koi pond and the flowers, the hedges and the willow tree, pausing to rest on a bench inside a gazebo. Its shade will comfort you, and its architecture will add that special geometric touch to your garden, striking the balance between nature and humanity. No matter what the environment of your garden, there is a garden gazebo out there just waiting to be bought.

In creating a garden gazebo, first choose your material from wood, metal, or vinyl options. Wood is the most common choice, and for good reason: it goes with any natural environment. Wood is available in pine, cedar, and redwood. Pine is the softest wood, ages to a rich yellow, and complements surrounding evergreens. Cedar is higher in overall sturdiness, is less prone to rot, and ages to a gray-brown. American redwood is the darkest, longest-lasting wood. Other woods can be used, but those are the most common.

Metal gazebos come in cast aluminum or steel and wrought iron. Go with steel and wrought iron if you want your garden gazebo to add a lovely dark and long lasting effect. These gazebos are often open-roofed, and so are great for stocking with plants, climbers, and other materials, making for a lush shade that changes with the seasons.  Vinyl comes in white or black. Just as with wood and metal gazebos, they come in a variety of shapes and styles. Get trellis walls for a cottage feeling.

For enhanced usability in harsher weather conditions, get an enclosed garden gazebo. These can be partially enclosed, with partitions and movable screens, or totally enclosed, with solid walls and tinted windows.

Whether looking to expand a large corporate garden, or just to complement a small neighborhood plot, a garden gazebo is an inviting structure for rest, meditation, or meeting up with other people to enjoy the weather.
